our SERVICE to America

In support of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) Service to America initiative , many of our members volunteer a great deal of their personal time helping with other service projects, which includes helping out our National and State parks, showing support for veterans groups, local churches and church ministries with food drives, and embracing many other opportunities.

~EDUCATION~

Since its first day of organizing, the Philadelphia Chapter, NSDAR, has been consistently interested in various forms of education. We have held an annual Student Education Awards Luncheon for almost 70 years! Based on the judgment of Philadelphia-area educators and faculty, we have given thousands of awards to public, private, and parochial school students, recognizing them for excellence in American History, Good Citizenship, and in JROTC. Our chapter members collect school supplies and supports DAR schools. We sponsor an annual scholarship for one graduating senior at a local high school.

~HISTORIC PRESERVATION~

We believe in the importance of preserving our nation’s history – this includes local history, too. We sponsor grant applications to our National Society, and we support local historical gems, including Ryerss Museum and Library in nearby Burholme Park, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (in picture, below).

~PATRIOTISM~

Yes, we are a proud, patriotic group paying homage to our military, our veterans, and to those who died fighting for a cause which benefits all Americans!
